North Shore Videographer and Director of Photography
Emmy Award winning director of photography and editor, based on the North Shore. I shoot TV commercials, interviews, events, and documentary work from Peabody to Gloucester. I studied photography at Endicott College in Beverly. Local shoots carry no travel fee.
Made on the North Shore
A thirty second TV spot
A spot for a physical therapy clinic, lit and shot solo in an hour, then mastered for air on NBC Sports Boston.
The Gulls in the fog
Endicott field hockey, conference championship, Beverly. First place in the Boston Press Photographers Association college contest.
Dreaming of Boston's North Shore
Abstract photographs made in Salem, Beverly, Beverly Farms, Peabody and Gloucester between 2019 and 2025.
A local crew of one
A thirty second spot for a small business up here is one shoot day and about a week in the edit. I light it, shoot it, record the sound, cut it, and deliver a file your station will accept. The ProForm spot in Salisbury was made that way.
The rest is interviews, events, school and nonprofit films, and photography: headshots on location, editorial portraits, and event coverage. Most of my broadcast and documentary credits are in Boston, a short drive down Route 1. The same cameras and standards come to a shoot in Danvers or Newburyport.
I own the package, so there is no rental house in the middle: Sony FX9, Canon C300 Mark II, Panasonic EVA1, and Sony a7 IV, with lighting, audio, and a gimbal. The full list is on the gear page.

“I had the pleasure of working with Michael over the past year, and he is easily one of the best editors I've ever hired. Michael consistently overdelivered on every project, worked with incredible speed and organization, and brought a positive, can-do attitude to every challenge. Beyond his technical talent, he was simply a pleasure to work with, reliable, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. Any team would be lucky to have him. I highly recommend Michael and would work with him again without hesitation.”Glenn Romero, Producer, Snowcap Video Solutions
Hiring a videographer on the North Shore
Where are you based?
On the North Shore. Peabody, Salem, Beverly and Danvers are all close, and I cover the coast up through Gloucester and Newburyport.
Is there a travel fee for a shoot in Salem or Gloucester?
No. Travel is included anywhere on the North Shore and in Greater Boston.
Can you make a TV commercial for a small business?
Yes. A thirty second spot is usually one shoot day and about a week of editing. I handle the camera, lighting, sound and the edit, and I deliver to the station’s broadcast spec.
Do you take photographs as well as video?
Yes. Corporate headshots on location, editorial portraits, event coverage and commercial photography. Send me the job through the contact form and I’ll quote it.
How do I book a date?
A 50% retainer holds the date, and the balance is due at delivery. Two to four weeks of notice is comfortable.
