I was a director of photography on HBO's Murder in Boston, which won the 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Crime and Justice Documentary, and I shoot and edit Cardillo's World for NBC Sports Boston. One operator, broadcast standards
Most of what I shoot in Boston falls into four kinds of work: documentary, where I have been a director of photography and camera operator for HBO and the Museum of Fine Arts; broadcast, where I run ENG camera for Dirty Water Media on NESN and deliver a show to NBC Sports Boston; interviews and brand films for universities, museums and companies; and live events.
I own the package. A Sony FX9, a Canon C300 Mark II, a Panasonic EVA1 and a Sony a7 IV, with lighting, audio, wireless video and a gimbal. For an interview or a small shoot I work alone, which keeps the day simple and the budget down. For a bigger production I bring gaffers, audio and additional camera operators I trust, and each one is a line on your estimate. The whole kit is listed on the gear page.
I also edit. Color, motion graphics, audio mix and broadcast delivery all happen in house, so the person who shot your footage is the person who cuts it. See everything I offer.
What a shoot day costs in Boston
There is no travel charge in Greater Boston. Half days and three hour blocks cost less, and editing is priced by the deliverable. The full list is on the pricing page, or you can build your own estimate.

Hiring a videographer in Boston
Do you charge for travel inside Boston?
No. Travel is included anywhere in Greater Boston and on the North Shore. Elsewhere in New England adds $150 a day, and New York adds $400 a day.
How much notice do you need for a Boston shoot?
Two to four weeks is comfortable. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway and I will tell you honestly what is possible.
How do I hold a date?
A 50% retainer holds the date, and the balance is due at delivery.
Can you deliver to a Boston station?
Yes. I deliver Cardillo’s World to NBC Sports Boston’s broadcast spec, and I have cut for WBZ and shot for NESN programs. Broadcast delivery adds a conform and quality check to the edit.
Do you come alone or with a crew?
Either. Interviews and small shoots I usually run alone. Larger productions get a crew, and every person is itemized on the estimate before you sign.
