The Summer Stroll is Dirty Water Media's summer series, a walkable tour of New England's best food, fashion, and local businesses, from the team behind NESN's long-running Dirty Water TV. The 2026 season kicked off Memorial Day weekend at The Landing in Newport, Rhode Island, with stops including Chatham on Cape Cod as the summer rolls on.
For the season's Newport kickoff on Memorial Day weekend 2026, I ran ENG camera for Dirty Water Media at The Landing and a handful of other local spots around town. It was true run‑and‑gun coverage: operating the camera while monitoring and recording sound from a handheld mic, then grabbing B‑roll at every location so the editors had room to build each segment.
One operator, one day, a lot of ground to cover. Wearing the camera, the headphones, and the producer hat at once keeps you honest, and it's some of my favorite shooting for exactly that reason.
