Gaffer·Live Sound Mixer·Editor

In 2021 The Trustees held their 130th Annual Meeting as a live stream, and we produced it at Above Summit: a 90 minute, two camera show from The Trustees headquarters, run by a team of four covering audio, lighting and live switching. I was the gaffer and the live sound mixer, and I edited it.
We built the interview wall around the wood‑paneled “t” logo, so the brand sat right behind every guest. Both cameras ran into a Sumo 19 monitor for live switching, and we taped marks across the floor so guests knew exactly where to stand. We shot on the Canon C70.
We had a few days of prep, and honestly that’s what let the light come out clean. I set a key on the guests, a kicker from behind to pull them off the wall, and some light on the background itself. On a live show you can’t fix it later, so the look had to be right before the stream started.
On the night I ran the audio, recording the guests who were miked and the ones who weren’t. The full program is up on The Trustees’ YouTube channel, and it runs just under an hour and a half.
If you’re streaming an annual meeting, a board update or a member event, I’d plan it the same way: a set that looks like your organization, light that’s kind to people who aren’t on camera every day, and sound everyone can hear. That’s the work I did for The Trustees, and it’s what I bring to event and conference video in Boston.

If you’ve got an annual meeting, a talk or a stage program coming up, send me the date and the venue and I’ll put a plan together. I can light it, mic it and switch it live, or cut it after.
