In 2024, Boston University voice performance majors Grace Christensen and Mirah Johnston were invited to perform at the 61st Popayán International Music Festival in Popayán, Colombia, alongside Assistant Professor of Music David Guzmán. The festival has been running since 1964 and has hosted more than 4,000 artists from 36 countries in the capital of Colombia's Cauca region.
BU to Colombia is the College of Fine Arts short documentary about that journey: two students taking their training from Boston practice rooms to an international stage.
I directed, produced, and edited this one for BU's College of Fine Arts. Wearing all three hats means owning the story from the first planning call to the final export: shaping what gets shot, finding the narrative in the footage, and cutting a piece that does justice to what this trip meant for two young singers.
Universities and cultural institutions hire me to direct, shoot, and edit stories like this one, in Boston and well beyond.
