Spirit Ball 2025 Gala Video

The Film

This is the gala video I edited for Alex’s Team Foundation’s Spirit Ball in 2025, an eight‑minute set of real stories, working with Snowcap Productions. It was made to be shown once, at the Spirit Ball, where it helped raise money for cancer research. I edited the film and built its graphics.

The Edit

I came onto it a week after finishing Chuck’s Story, a fundraising video for the Bourque Family Foundation, and it was the same kind of job: real people’s stories, cut to play at an event and move a room to give. This one had a longer runway and a little more footage, so I had more time to polish.

The footage was shot on a Sony FX3, and part of the story is told through old family photos like the one above. For those, the square print sits over a soft, blurred copy of itself, so it fills the widescreen frame on the big screen with no black bars and the photo stays the thing you look at.

For Your Event

A gala video plays once, on a big screen, in front of the people who decide how the night goes.
