The Awards

I’ve edited a leadership award video for the Alnoba Leadership Awards two years running, both times for Glenn Romero at Snowcap Productions. In 2025 it was a package built from an honoree interview recorded entirely on Zoom, through a translator. In 2026 it was a leadership interview with a Dorchester principal. Both played to a live audience at the ceremony, and I built the motion graphics for each.

Alnoba is a nonprofit educational retreat center for leadership and team development, helping mission‑driven leaders learn, reflect and grow in service to their communities. Their end card line sums it up: “Daring leaders to change the world.”

2025: An Interview on Zoom, Through a Translator

This one was an unusual edit. The whole interview was recorded on Zoom, with every answer coming through a translator, and it took a few passes to find a structure that read clearly and held attention. Once that was set the edit moved, and I built the motion graphics. It played to the room at the 2025 Alnoba Leadership Awards.

If your honoree can only do a remote interview, that’s still workable, and I’d plan for extra time on structure the way this one needed it. I also had a shoot day on the 2025 awards for Snowcap Productions.

2026: Dr. Lianne Hughes‑Odom, Holmes Innovation School

In 2026 I cut the piece on Dr. Lianne Hughes‑Odom, principal of the Holmes Innovation School in Dorchester, who received the Harriet R. Lewis Gutsy Young Leader Award. It started as a two camera sit‑down and came down to a hard stop of 4:30, opening on her first day welcome to the school. It played at the Alnoba event, and the end card notes the donation Alnoba made in her name.

The first ask was nine minutes, then six, then that hard stop at 4:30. The whole story of the edit is on its own page, the Holmes Innovation School leadership interview.

What a Ceremony Video Has to Do

An award video plays once, live, to the people who came for the honoree. It has to introduce them quickly and hold the room, and it has to fit the run of show. That’s how I cut these, and it’s the same work behind my interview and testimonial video in Boston and my event and conference video in Boston.
