Lead Gaffer·Lead Editor·Jib Operator

In 2022 we made the opener for a company‑wide PTC live stream at Above Summit: a tour of PTC’s Boston headquarters that went out to the whole organization, with CEO Jim Heppelmann opening and closing it. I was lead gaffer, I ran the jib, and I led the edit. It runs just under three minutes.
A tour only works if the camera keeps moving, so we planned the whole piece around movement. We flew a drone for the outside of the building, ran a gimbal with a focus puller, and I was on the jib for the bigger moves. Everything was shot on Canon C70s.
As lead gaffer I lit the spaces the tour moves through, including the rooftop set in the photo above, built with diffusion frames, flags and lights on stands. These are working offices, so I wanted the real rooms to look good on camera without turning them into a studio.
Jim’s open and close bracket the piece and the tour runs in between, so the cut goes from him, through the building, and back to him before the live stream picks up. We shot it on camera movement for a corporate audience, so in the edit I let the moves carry it.
PTC called Above Summit back in 2023 to do it again. That time I spent two days as first assistant camera. The video on this page is the 2022 opener.
If you’ve got a town hall, a company meeting or a live stream that needs an opener, I can light the spaces, put the camera on the move and cut it to length. Have a look at event and conference video in Boston for how I plan these.

For an opener, a headquarters tour or a company video, I can handle the lighting, the camera moves and the edit myself. Tell me what the meeting is and when it goes live, and I’ll put a plan together.
