Lead Editor·Camera Operator
Anchor Down Ultra: Toe The Line, an Above Summit production

Anchor Down Ultra: Toe The Line is a documentary we made with Above Summit in 2022 about a 24‑hour ultramarathon in Bristol, Rhode Island, following the athletes past their limits. I was a camera operator on the race and the lead editor, and the film runs just under twenty minutes. Above Summit is the Somerville production studio where I worked as senior video editor, camera operator and gaffer.
A 24‑hour race means a 24‑hour shoot, so the crew rotated in shifts while the athletes kept going. On the course we kept the Canon C70 handheld the whole time, to stay mobile and keep up with the race. Off the course we set up sit‑down interviews, with two cameras and a boom on the lawn and a lit setup on a back deck.
Race base was a row of white tents under a carved Anchor Down Ultra sign. The strongest footage came overnight, with headlamps cutting through the fog, runners talking to themselves, and how quiet it gets at mile 80.
As lead editor I had a full day and night of race footage plus the interviews to work with. I cut all of it down into one film that runs just under twenty minutes.
Long, unscripted days are where I’m comfortable. I stay mobile, keep rolling, and find the story in the edit. If you’ve got an endurance event, a race or a documentary that runs past the usual call time, I can shoot it and cut it. There’s more on my work as a Boston camera operator and DP, or see the documentary work I did on HBO’s Murder in Boston.
I shoot races, long events and documentaries on the move, then cut them into a film people actually watch to the end. Tell me about the project and the dates and I’ll put a plan together.
